Kelly Clarkson gets 'Stronger' in new video - watch the premiere now!

My boobs are made of Grammys
Our last post was all DOOM and GLOOM and WILL.I.AM pretending anyone gives a shit what he does.  Which is why it's so good that today, the LIVING RAY OF SUNSHINE that is Kelly Clarkson released her video for 'Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)'.  It's a good reminder just in time for the holidays - that no matter how many unintentionally-terrifying Justin Bieber videos come out, as long as we can make it through alive, we will come out the other side a better person with bigger pecs and biceps.

Or something.

Anyway, the video is Kelly doing her usual Kelly thing, but also has an added flash mob thing going.  It's super cute in a "flash mobs are a thing that was awesome a couple years ago so lets do one in a video" kind of way.  The choreography was put out a while back, in order to give KC's fans a chance to learn it and perform it in the clip, and the payoff is a lot of fun to watch.

As for the song, 'Stronger' is the second single from Clarkson's fifth (!!) solo album, and it is very good.  Not as good as 'Mr. Know It All,' but a smidge more addicting and certainly hit-worthy.  Which is good, because we have a feeling we'll be hearing it quite a bit all winter.

Kelly Clarkson rocks out The X-Factor with 'Mr. Know It All'

omg y'all no way
Kelly Clarkson visited the new show by the man who made her a star, and showed everyone exactly why she was the one that made it.  Because if Justin Guarini was up on that stage....well, let's just not go down that road.

While performing 'Mr. Know-It-All' on Simon Cowell's U.S. version of 'X-Factor', Miss Clarkson ruled the stage in pitch-perfect voice and with a commanding presence, along with a troupe of drummers wearing the now-requisite (thanks, Gaga) ridiculous outfits that must accompany ANY SORT OF LIVE PERFORMANCE FOR ANY REASON.  Luckily Kelly was able to ignore them completely and go about her divaish business.

It was a great performance of a great song, but we can't help but feeling like having someone like Kelly on the show only underscores just how lackluster the contestants are.  Sure, they don't have a team of handlers primping and prodding them, and no, they haven't had months of vocal coaching to perfect every second of each song they sing, but Kelly just has a certain something that blows most everyone else off the stage.

Also she's looking quite thin.  So...good for you, Kelly.

Kelly Clarkson's man is a 'Mr. Know It All'

"THIS IS MY SINGLE COVER." *glare*
We heart Kelly pretty hard around these parts.  Not like, hand-clapping, jumping-up-and-down-like-she's-Kylie hard, but QUITE HARD ENOUGH, thank you very much.  So it is with much excitement that we awaited the unveiling of her brand new single 'Mr. Know It All' yesterday.  Would it be poppy 'Since You Been Gone' Kelly?  Would it be ANGRY SHOUTY 'My December' Kelly?  Or would it be .....well those are really the only two.

And at the end of the day it's kind of neither.  'Know' is like a harder version of an above-average Natasha Bedingfield song.  Which is not to say it's bad in the least.  We just prefer our Kelly with a bit more of a 'My Life Would Suck' edge.  Especially for a lead single, since the whole point of one is to recapture everyone's attention.  And we're just not sure this is the song that will do that.

What the song does do, however, is tease a slightly more grown-up sounding Kelly.  Which is VERY EXCITING.  We always felt like deep down inside her (underneath the chili fries) there was a hell of an artist, beyond the slick production of her biggest hits.  An artist with more subtlety and depth than we've seen, all propped up by THAT VOICE.

Judging by 'Mr. Know It All' we might just get a little bit of that Kelly on the new record.  And maybe that's why they went ahead with this track.  It's an enticing teaser of what glorious music might just be to come.

Which is all very good and we're super looking forward to hearing it, but when the album comes out there better be one power ballad AT LEAST as good as 'Because of You' and two 'Since You've Been Gone' corkers with remix EPs.  Also there needs to be one crap song that seems to get less and less crap as time goes on until eventually the "true fans" all look at it as a hidden gem and demand that Kelly sing it on tour, even though in actuality it is crap.  So GET ON THAT, KELLY.

Or we'll take the chili fries.

HERE IS KELLY CLARKSON'S NEW SINGLE AND SOME SONGS FROM HER NEW ALBUM

I'm about to smack the sh*t outta your wind machine.
There's something about Kelly Clarkson that makes us smile.  It could be because she's pretty or because she's sweet or maybe because she knows Justin Guarini.  OR BECAUSE SHE IS AMAZING.

In case you've forgotten the epic novella that is Kelly's life, she started out as a regular person and stayed that way until she won some tv show and then sang some brilliant songs which made her a little bit less of a regular person and more of a celebrity.  Then she got huge (career wise) after which she told everyone to f off and did an album that was "personal" and "deep" (read: it was shit) and then she got huge (fat wise) and decided to sing BRILLIANT SONGS again.  Then we kind of forgot about her getting fat because her tracks were so good and also because Christina kind of "stole the show" with that one if you know what we're saying, and now she is doing another album that sounds as if it will be PRETTY DAMN GOOD.

In a weird-but-brilliant move, all of the YouTube tracks that have leaked have been slowed down in what is probably an attempt by the record company to leak the product without actually releasing the product - everyone can hear how spectacular the album is going to be without actually ever obtaining a copy of it in its final version.   From a "controlling the inevitable leaks" standpoint it's a great idea, but more importantly to us, if you listen to the songs and imagine how good they will be after they are sped up just a little bit, it suddenly will occur to you that there must be a God in heaven because this album is going to be brilliant.

On Friday K-Ca's (don't worry, we don't think that's going to catch on) alleged new single leaked, and everyone's heads exploded because it was super.  It is a pop/rock/shuffly thing that has a bitchy bite that we're not really used to from Big K, but that suits her quite nicely.  It's called 'Let Me Down' and it sounds a bit (read: exactly) like this:

So that's good then, isn't it.  But anyone looking for Miss Independent to follow a different path on this record than her usual "take a poppy rock song and then scream amazingly over it" formula will be disappointed.  Which is ok because those people who expect something new don't own her and she can make her own decisions and maybe she just likes doing these kinds of songs so shut up and bring her some cake.

HERE ARE SOME OF THOSE SONGS:

So there they are.  One of them may not even be Kelly singing it.  None of them may be her new single.  Three of them will be greatly improved by having their original, faster speeds restored.  One of them will be slightly improved by having its original, faster speed restored.

And all of them are brilliant.

Welcome back, Kelly.

So lets all talk about celebrity Kanye reactions

ScopiSat hates Kanye West. Not the music, but the man. Pride, bravado, etc is all well and good but christ...
Well Last night the man was in action again, as I'm sure you've all heard or have seen. He grabbed the mic during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech to express his dissatisfaction with Taylor winning over Beyonce. Pure class, right?

Kanye was kicked out of the VMAs after his outburst, and the always dignified Beyonce later forfeited her acceptance speech to allow Taylor the chance to speak...

anyway, we have nothing really new to add to the discussion, so instead we're going to take a look at some of the reactions to Mr. West's little speech:

Pink: Kanye West is the biggest shit on Earth. Quote me.

Katy Perry: Fuck you, Kanye. It's like you stepped on a kitten.

Kelly Clarkson: Dear Kanye, what happened to you as a child? Did you not get hugged enough?

Kellie Pickler: Kanye grow some fucking balls, bitch

And perhaps the best so far, a comforting reassurance from Spencer Pratt: Let's be very clear - King Spencer would never do anything like what Kanye just did to a sweet soul like Taylor

Amazing.

Kelly Clarkson duets with Robert Pattinson

Yes, you read that right - Kelly Clarkson sang with Robert Pattinson....'s cutout at the Illinois State Fair the other night. Some fan slapped a Kelly slogan on an Edward Cullen (from Twilight) cardboard standee, and Ms. Clarkson brought it up on stage to serenade it with her jam 'I Want You.' Check out the video - it's all very screamy and has lots of feedback, but if you turn the sound down and fast forward to 1:30 you'll catch the moment when Kelly met Edward. What do you think, readers? Is it true love?
