Toni Braxton wants you to 'Make My Heart' in new video - watch the premiere now!

We're totally on board with this Toni Braxton comeback thing.  Having said that, her weepy ballad tracks she chucked out a couple months ago left us a bit cold.   While both were moderate successes on the R&B charts, the songs apparently had the same effect on the record buying public at large - they both failed to impact the mainstream. 
One imagines that in recent weeks much shuffling of papers and consulting of consultants has occurred in the Atlantic Records offices, trying to figure out how to drum up support for Braxton's new album before it arrives May 4.  In ScopiSat's opinion they made the right choice, and decided to release an upbeat, catchy track with a spunky-but-not-too-edgy-for-middle-America video. 

It really ticks all the boxes for a BIG POP COMEBACK - it shows viewers the comeback star still looks great, includes some 'progressive' dance moves, and features a dodgy catsuit outfit that will divide the pop world and create blood feuds between the 'love it' and 'hate it' camps.  Marketing WIN.



The album, 'Pulse,' is out May 4.  Buy it.

So Toni hasn't been the luckiest artist  -  she was famously bankrupt a while back and has had some health problems - but she's making another run at it with a whole new album and promo tour.  To kick things off here's Toni talking about the project and wearing some sexy outfits at Wal-Mart's SoundCheck.

Toni Braxton is on what seems like her eighth comeback, but she never wears out her welcome.  This go-round we are treated to a midtempo ballad all about 'heartbreak' and that sort of thing, and an accompanying video that was apparently filmed in an Anthropologie retail location.  The video also features a shirtless Trey Songz, and some blond skank in the beginning that looks like Brooke Hogan if she got her face redone.   Oh wait, it's actually Brooke Hogan for some reason.

So the Toni Braxton comeback train continues to sputter up the mountain muttering 'I think I can, I think I can.'  We personally hope that it can and in fact DOES, because we're totally digging Toni's new track, called 'Woman.'  It's what the kids are calling a 'slow jam' but we choose to imagine the single package containing some balls-out club mixes and promotion including a live performance with a wig and dancers and a retrospective video intro with clips from 'Breathe Again' and 'He Wasn't Man Enough.' 



We all can dream can't we :(

Toni's new album 'Pulse' will be out in February, and here's hoping it all goes to plan for her - the famously bankrupt warbler could certainly use a break
