Who wants to see Miley embarass herself in front of millions? We thought so - watch now!

Miley and a pal shortly after switching outfits
We here at ScopiSat are generally positive and uplifting people.  It is not in our nature to revel in the misfortune of others, even when they bring it on themselves by wearing RIDICULOUS THINGS AND BLEETING LIKE A SHEEP INTO A MICROPHONE.

So, having said that, here are some good things about the Miley Cyrus performance of her new death dirge 'Forgiveness and Love':

1.  Her hair didn't look as horrible as it has in the past.

2.  By recycling a burial shroud BEAUTIFUL GOWN from the late 19th century she set a fine example for the youth of America, leading the charge in the "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" campaign.

3.  There wasn't a stripper pole in sight, although we're sure in a pinch any one of those candelabras could be straddled and ground against - which in retrospect really could have taken this performance to the next level.

4.  The performance provided temporary employment to a number of live musicians, and in these economic times that is truly something to be applauded.

5.  Clocking in at a measly 3:25 the whole debacle could have been dragged out much, much longer.

THE END.

Miley's 'Two More Lonely People' is ACTUALLY PHENOMENAL. Listen now!

Miley Cyrus (pictured above just after hearing that her album only debuted at number 3) has somehow managed to squeeze a very, very good song out of her age-inappropriate hotpants.  It is called 'Two More Lonely People' and it is on her new album 'Can't Be Tamed.'  It has not been announced as a single but there should be ACTUAL RIOTS if it is not.  'Lonely' is a little bit of Miley's own 'See You Again' (amazing), a little bit ABBA (AMAZING) and has a middle bit that is fists-in-the-air-while-crying-at-the-disco brilliant (self explanatory in its amazitude).  Accordingly, it ticks all the pop boxes and is an absolute necessity for your summer iPod playlist.

Here it is:

There it was.

Miley performs 'Can't Be Tamed' on Letterman - is anyone blown away by how good she is? Watch now!

It's no secret we love 'Party In The USA' because it is amazing.  We also love 'See You Again' because it is a brilliant pop song.  As for Miley herself, however, we've always had sort of mixed feelings.  Could 'Can't Be Tamed' be a turning point in our feelings about the teen sensation?

With the recent up-skirt picture controversy (thanks, Perez Hilton - always a class act) there has been much discourse about whether Miss Cyrus is growing up too fast and ruining our youth.  The answer to both is probably a RESOUNDING YES, but when corruption looks and sounds this good, who cares?

Somehow when we least expected it, Miley turned into a VERY GOOD little pop star.  The album 'Can't Be Tamed' is out June 21, and the single is out now.

Miley Cyrus 'Can't Be Tamed' but she can sound like everyone else - listen to the new single now

Miley Cyrus, pictured here greeting Sarah Jessica Parker backstage, is back and BIGGER AND BETTER THAN EVER, or so her people would have you believe.  In reality she's just back and a little mediocre.  'Can't Be Tamed' is the brand new single from Miley's upcoming album and while certainly not terrible, it's nothing we haven't heard before.  It could have been a Britney or Christina track from three years ago, or a Rachel Stevens cast-off.  Gone are the guitar-driven tween jams and angsty "he totally said he'd call but he totally didn't because he heard I gave J'Syn a handy-J at the Sonic Burger" attitude, and in its place is an electro swing sound that keeps getting made but has yet to really result in a hit (save for Britney's '3,' but let's be honest here, the threesomes sold that baby not the music) Still, the girl has a certain something that makes the track a little more than just the sum of its parts.  Take a listen and let us know what you think:

"Passable"

Miley Cyrus shows us what she sees 'When I Look At You' - watch the new video now!

About two years ago we fell in love with Miley completely by accident and against our better instincts.  It was in a cab on the way back from Newark airport, and a song came on the radio.  It was a infectious, insistent, and even brilliant.  'This song is going to save pop in America,' we thought.  And then it was a Miley Cyrus song and we died a little inside.

Anyway, the still-not-legal pole dancer has a new video out but don't get excited - this is a world away from 'Party In The USA.'  It's from Ms. Cyrus' new movie 'The Last Song' which comes out at the end of March and looks exactly like something Mandy Moore would have been in if she wasn't so busy doing......nothing.   As for the song, it's a broody ballad all about BOYS and how much it hurts to love BOYS and has a guitar and a piano in it so you know it means business.

PS the song we heard was 'See You Again.'  And it is still amazing.

Also we miss Mandy Moore :(

Miley Cyrus and Timbaland say 'We Belong To The Music' - listen to the full track!

In a completely obvious pairing (see what we did with there...because it's not actually obvious at all and is actually quite odd...get it?), Timbaland has tapped Miley Cyrus to appear on his new album 'Shock Value 2.'  The song is just as you'd expect from Timbaland, but Miley's voice actually lends itself pretty nicely to this genre.  In any case it's nice to have someone on a Timbaland record who can actually sing and isn't autotuned within an inch of their life.

'Shock Value 2' is out Dec 8

Miley Cyrus' 'Party In The USA' video premiere

So finally there is a real video for Miley's 'Party In The USA,' now that everyone stopped caring. We can't get the song out of our heads, but the video is pretty forgettable. Maybe she should have gotten some gays to do one for her out on Fire Island.....

It's not bad, really, and she looks absolutely great. Also we love the ending bit with the American Flag backdrop. And the middle part. And most of the video, really, but we just can't get past the fact that it's not "Party in the Fire Island Pines." :(

Party in the USgAy

Since Miley has yet to grace us with an official video for her inexcusable 'Party In The USA,' some gays with too much time on their hands have made one for us. Is it us or are the production values shockingly good? The thing that strikes us the most, though, is that this clip, by a gaggle of hot young gays on a bender in Fire Island Pines, will inevitably turn out to be more wholesome than the official video starring a high school girl that will be plastered all over the Disney Channel.

Amazing.

Miley pole dances in the USA

For two days the world (ie teenage boys and Focus on the Family) has been clamoring about Miley Cyrus' pole dance at the Teen Choice Awards. Well it finally aired and it wasn't so much a 'pole dance' as 'dancing with a pole nearby' but that's quite enough for us here at ScopiSat. The whole thing is in aid of her new single 'Party in the USA' which is both painful and amazing all at the same time thanks to lyrics like 'the Britney song was on, and the Britney song was on' etc etc.

I think ScopiSat reader Ryan speaks for all of you when he says: "That is the meanest thing you've ever posted."

Party In The USA is out soon on Hollywood Records
